Care Worker and Manager"Employers who offer work placement opportunities open up a route between themselves and schools, colleges and the local community by which to promote their organisation and attract their future workforce"

Work experience is an excellent opportunity for young people to prepare for the world of work as well as helping to clarify their career choices.

Students can bring new knowledge and enthusiasm to the workplace, being ready to absorb new ideas and concepts, contributing significantly to the development of any organisation, and heightening awareness among staff of their skills and competencies.

A high quality work experience and placement is vital for sustaining student interest and ultimately bringing new people into the social care workforce

Work experience can be a defining moment in a student's career choice. A dull or poorly supported placement could mean that a potentially good recruit is lost to the sector - but when a student's work experience is meaningful and enjoyable it helps to build a good relationship with the school and community and ensure a steady stream of potential recruits.

Care Ambassadors can play a key role in facilitating creative programmes of work placements, acting as mentors and role models for students
